👍One Boy 👍One Teddy Bear 👍👍One Statewide Program Officers Carry Today

So that when a child is separated from a parent at the scene of an accident, DUI, domestic abuse, or child abuse, they don't have to wait alone. The teddy bear gives the child something to hold onto, and the coloring book provides a much-needed distraction from what's going on outside the first responder vehicle.

From a wonderful day of community service in Alamo to the back seat of a first responder vehicle

Every care package follows the same short journey — here's how your donation actually reaches a child.

1

You give

A one-time gift or monthly membership funds a $3 care package.

2

Kids pack it

Volunteer kids assemble a bear, coloring book, pencils, and a note to the child who'll receive it.

3

CHP carries it

Care packages are stocked in CHP vehicles across California, every year since Bobby started.

4

A child is comforted

When a child waits in the back seat during a family crisis, they're not waiting alone.

Why it started

Bobby began by donating outgrown toys to a mission in Mexico. When he learned California's teddy bear program for the highway patrol had lost its funding, he decided to keep it going himself.

Kids helping kids

Every care package includes a secret note, written by the child who packed it, to the child who will open it — a quiet connection between two kids who will never meet.

A challenge to other states

Bobby challenges kids in other states to start their own teddy bear program for their local highway patrol. Get in touch to find out how.

Every $3 is one child comforted.

Monthly memberships keep the program running between emergencies — one-time gifts cover it in the moment.
